Description:

The 25-year-old Rock Cairn Vineyard on the outer southern edge of Oakville, produced some lovely fruit in 2006 despite early season rains. Aged in a near-even combination of new and once-used French oak barrels for 17 months that display their influence without overwhelming the wine's fruit characteristics. A core of black cherry is touched off by cola, anise and savory herbs and framed by fleshy tannins and good acidity. This will continue to integrate with a little time in bottle so decant early or cellar for the near-term.
