Description:

This 100% Cabernet is the ripest and sweetest of the winery’s 2008 offerings, but it still shows the tannins that are Nickel & Nickel’s mark. The vineyard is in west Oakville, and offers that region’s superbly lush, delicious blackberry, blueberry and cherry flavors. Those tannins, while firm, are sweetly ripe, giving the wine an oxymoronic soft toughness.



The Branding Iron Vineyard is an eight-and-a-half acre plot located at the foot of the Mayacamas Mountains in western Oakville. Its soils consist of of well-drained clay loam and the climate is warm, with long sunny days and cool nights. Cabernet grown here is picked late for optimum fruit and phenolic ripeness, yielding wines with density and fine tannin structure.
